  • This service makes it possible to have Bell record the telephone number of a harassing, obscene or threatening caller. A charge applies whether the traced number is requested by the Police or not.

    Note: Call Trace should be used in serious situations only. If you use this service, you should be prepared to contact the Police and have the caller charged. Bell will only release the traced number with proper legal authorization ONLY TO THE POLICE (you will not be advised of the caller's number). Available where facilities exist.
  • 1. Hang up after receiving the threatening or harassing call.
  • 2. Lift the receiver and press *57.
  • 3. Listen for a voice announcement to tell you whether the call was successfully traced.
  • 4. Hang up.
