How to set up Bell Mail in Mac OS 10.4

- You can send, receive and manage Bell Mail messages using the Mail program for Mac computers.
- 1. In Mac OS 10.4, click Mail.
- 2. Click Mail.
- 3. Click Preferences…
- 4. Click Accounts.
- 5. Click the + icon.
- 6. Click Account Type.
- 7. Select POP.
- 8. Enter a description for the account (e.g., My Email).
- 9. Click Full Name and enter your name.
- 10. Click Email Address and enter your Bell Mail address.
- 11. Click Continue.
- 12. For the incoming mail server, enter pophm.sympatico.ca.
- 13. For the username, enter your Bell Mail address.
- 14. For the password, enter your Bell Mail password.
- 15. Click Continue.
- 16. Wait while the information is verified.
- 17. For the outgoing mail server, enter smtphm.sympatico.ca.
- 18. Select Use Authentication.
- 19. For the username, enter your Bell Mail address.
- 20. For the password, enter your Bell Mail password.
- 21. Click Continue.
- 22. Wait while the information is verified.
- 23. Click Continue.
- 24. Click Done.
- 25. Click the settings icon.
- 26. Click Edit "My Email"…
(If you used a different account description, it will appear in place of "My Email".) - 27. Click Server Settings…
- 28. Ensure Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is selected, then click OK.
- 29. Click Advanced.
- 30. Ensure Authentication is set to Password.
- 31. Bell Mail is now set up on your Mac.
